- Tell the 911 operator if there are any obstacles or hazards in or about your driveway

- The ambulance is large, heavy vehicle, difficult to maneuver in tight spaces. Any information about approaching your house safely and efficiently is helpful for the driver.

- Make sure that you have the following readily available at your home

- A list of any medical conditions and/or allergies the patient is known to have.

- An up-to-date-list of medications for the patient.

- Ideally, the patient’s previous medical history, including surgeries, implants, etc.

- A copy of the patient’s DNR, if they have one.

- If the patient has designated someone as having medical power of attorney, a copy of the relevant legal document.
